So happy this Super Star Challenge came about. It made me start scrapping again.

Journaling:

In August of 2004 my mother called me and said she was going to Trinidad for a visit, (my family is originally from Trinidad). She wanted to know if I could make a quilt for a cousin of mine who just had a baby. She only gave me a week because she was leaving in two weeks and I had to mail it to her before she left.

Normally I would have not been able to do it but this cousin who had the baby recently lost his mother (my mother's cousin but more like a sister). So I just knew it would be a lot of work but worth every miniute of my time and effort. Plus my mom usually never asks me for a favor. I found this beautiful pattern called Autumn Tints 2; it must have been faith because my youngest daughter's name is Autumn.

I went to work the next day and asked my girlfriend DeAnna at work to help me pick out the material. She is really great at that. I brought all the material home and got to work. I finished the top that night. I quilted it the next day my first time machine quilting. Did simple lines to quilt it bet I was so happy with the way it turned out. I almost called my mom and told her I was keeping it for myself. Don't worry I didn't. I sent it straight away to my mom.

She took it to Trinidad and gave it to my cousin and his wife. They ablsolutly loved the beautiful baby quilt and I will always know that my first machine quilt went to another sweet generation of my family.

Materials I used:

Bazzill Paper and Brads

VersaMark Stamp

Gray Marble Vellum

Fabric Pieces sew together to make quilt.

So cute!
It's so nice to see that I'm not the only crazy, multi-crafting person! lol
I love quilts!
