When I grow up...

This challenge was easy for me, since I have had one big dream since I was little. I used: MM foam stamps-Philadelphia Rubber alphabet stamps black acrylic paint Karen Foster bulletin board paper Karen Foster school days stickers Typewriter keys lined school paper (also KF?) MM vellum tag MM rub ons ribbon Autumn Leaves file folder The top of the file folder says.. Occasion: EVIDENCE~of my dream to teach Date: Since 2nd grade 2nd grade...helped Mrs. Ascarunz after school 4th grade...adored Ms. Duke 6th thru 8th grade...helped Mrs. Ambrosino in her 4th grade class. Took over math while she was on maternity leave. Elementary school-throughout...Played 'school'. I was the teacher! The inside journaling says... (I took a picture of this part, because the scanning takes me too long! lol) “In second grade, I stayed after school to help my teacher. Passing out papers, cleaning up, stapling homework – it didn’t matter. I just wanted to be in the classroom. Not even stapling through my thumbnail deterred me from wanting to be there. I wanted to be a teacher so badly, I could taste it. The years of schooling that I still had ahead of me seemed like an eternity. At home, my little sister and I played school all of the time. I was ALWAYS the teacher. At school, I was so jealous of my own teachers. I always imagined how I would do things if it were MY classroom. Today, I am still not a teacher. My career got sidetracked for seven years, but it was a great experience. Though I enjoyed it immensely, I know that my life will not be complete if I don’t become a teacher. I realized this when I walked into Trevor’s school office two years ago, saw that red four-square ball on the counter, and got tears in my eyes. I got my Bachelor’s Degree in December of 2004. I look forward to entering a teaching certification program, and reaching my goal. I WILL be a teacher. My dream WILL become a reality. 1-2-05”
