Romance
by GypsymonkeyJan 8, 2005
Products used:Papers by Daisy D.Cardstock stickers by Pebble Inc.Cardstock to print computer journaling onJournaling reads:Being romantic is not one of Bob's strong suits. I was his first serious girlfriend and we were 18 at the time. When he finally decided to get around to asking me to be his girlfriend, he did it in a way not normally done. We were playing poker and he said that if he got the better hand I would have to be his girlfriend. We both had a Full House with mine being the higher of the two. I won. Later that day when we were picking cherries from my grandmother's fruit tree, he said, "You still have to be my girlfriend!"I think that the closest Bob got to proposing was a couple months after we were officially a couple. We were driving to Oregon when this conversation took place:Bob: What would you say if I asked you to marry me?Diana: I'd probably say yes.Bob: Will you marry me?Diana: Are you seriously asking?Bob: No.Diana: Then I'm not answering. When we got engaged, again Bob didn't do anything traditional like getting down on one knee and proposing. Not even close. We were watching a movie that had a wedding in it. THis the the conversation we had:Diana: Are we ever getting married?Bob: Do you want to?Diana: Yes!Bob: Okay, then we're getting married!Half an hour after that, a good friend of ours came over for dinner and we told him the news. I think he was more excited than Bob and I both put together. We have always taken life's events in stride. Three years to the day of being a couple, we got married!
