A Situation:
When you complete a page, do you add it to an album immediately?  Do you end up with a pile of completed pages that need to be added?  How and why do you do what you do?

I am not a chronological scrapper. But, I want my pages in chronological order in the albums.  I end up scraping pages, and they pile up until I have a chance to fit them into the correct timeline in my albums.  Then I take a day to get them inserted...  which is a pain!  But, it wouldn't be any less so if I put them in the albums immediately.  I am wondering what changes to my habits I could make to ease this. My pile is currently tall, and precariously balanced, risking damage. I have to do something differently.

Re: A Situation:
I wish I had some words of advice for you, but I don't.  Since I don't scrap chronologically, my albums are not in chronological order.  There is no way I could do that and still keep myself sane.  I have zero space to let finished pages hang out, so they go immediately into the album.  If I wanted an album to be in chronological order, I can't imagine how many times I would be loading and unloading layouts to make them fit into albums that already have pages in them.  I'm too lazy for that!

OCD is not an adjective.  It is not a personality quirk. It is not synonymous with being organized.  It is a complex and debilitating mental health illness that affects people of all ages and walks of life, and is defined by the presence of unwanted, intrusive thoughts and repetitive actions. 💙 I am an OCD warrior and I fight for my son. 💙

NO! I'm afraid I have several very tall piles of pages and putting them into albums has been a New Year's Resolution for the last three years. LOL

Re: A Situation:
I do put mine away immediately. SO no stacks at my house. I don't always scrap chronologically but my albums are in in chronological order. & I use the 3-ring albums so I can easily add pages and move them around if I need to!

Re: A Situation:
I have stacks of finished pages that have hot been put into albums yet. I started scrapping chronological many years ago, and all double spreads on top of that, but to quote Flasher Laura, "to keep myself sane" I decided to change things. I now scrap what I want in any order I want, and I do mostly single pages. I decided to only do chronological double spread albums for first year baby and puppy albums. After that it's single page and any which way. I have them stacked right now but have bought a bunch of albums they will go in. That's paper.

I don't mix my digi layouts with my paper layouts. Yes I'm OCD lol. I print out my digi layouts and have them in albums that I keep in the den on the table. None of them are chronological. Just a mix. Some of the albums are a bit themed, but the layouts are mixed. And I do have a digital "stack" of layouts that haven't been printed out yet. And I have a bunch of them poster taped on the walls of my scrappy room.

Re: A Situation:
Also, maybe I'm just a weirdo this way, but I love looking through my albums and seeing tiny babies on one layout and then turning the page and seeing a 10 year old in the pool, and then turning the page to see a preschooler at church, etc.  I love that they are all over.  You never know who or what you're going to see next!

I have lots and lots of stacks.  But I like when my granddaughter's Emma and Paige come over and I let them put the layouts about them into their own albums.

If you find a good solution, let me know! Im in the exact same boat! When the pile get precarious, thats when I put them away.....lol!
One things that "kinda" works for me is to store my pages in Iris containers till I have about 40 layouts in chronological order...and then move them to an album...but it really only kinda works..another thing I do is that I will sometimes put a chronological album together and when I have "gaps" I print the missing photos I want to include and just slip the photos into the page protectors where the future page will live...like saving a space in my album...

Re: A Situation:
I don't scrap chronologically anymore, either, but I do put pages in yearly albums.  Basically, I keep the pages in 12 x 12 paper holders until I am ready to put them in the albums.  It takes a while to put them all in, but once I do, they are done. No re-shuffling that way.   Since I do paper and digi, I print all the finished digi ones at the end and then I am ready to put them all in the albums.  I should add that I have about 5 years (5 different paper holders) going at once.  lol

At first I thought, yeah, maybe a little weird, lol. But thinking more about it reminds me of going through my mom's "picture box" every so often when I was a kid and young adult .... well, until she passed away 8 1/2 years ago. The picture were just in an old boot box, probably 14x14 inches ... and it was fun to go through those pictures all mixed up. Like you said with your layouts... here's a baby pic of me, siblings, someone's wedding, an obit clipped from the newspaper, my kids pics, ... you never knew what order you might pull out. And it was a good time to reminisce and share stories ...

Sara this is what I do too! I have about four of them full and I have a big stack on my scrappy hutch that needs put away! I leave an empty page protector or two in between the pages for the layout that follows whenever I get it done. I have been trying to scrap where if I have 3 layouts and I know they go together I will do all three before I stop scrapping for the day.

Re: A Situation:
I am not a chronological scrapper either, normally.  So I have 6-7 big boxes full of  LO's that need to get into albums at some point.
BUT, while I have 90% of my scrap room boxed up right now for a make over, I have limited supplies to work with.  And 30/30 has helped me to start a current
project for the first time!  In January we had a Baby Sprinkling for dil and my granddaughter was born in February.  So, since I had bought lots  of baby girl stuff over the winter,
I have started her album and done  well.

Re: A Situation:
I'm one of the few that is a chronological scrapper.  But that is because I have photos, memorabilia, etc organized by year.  It is very rare if I scrap out of order (usually for a challenge).  If I do I keep those in an Iris box until I get to that time/date/year (whatever).  I keep a spreadsheet for a timeline (year/month/day date).  So I'll have the date and the event and if I need to make notes about certain things I do that in the column next to it.  Not detailed notes but say for a football game - look in memorabilia for tickets).  I know this sounds really OCD but it's the only way I can half-way keep things straight!

Re: A Situation:
I have a bench.  I put in all my finished layouts in there, except for those that actually have a home (my son's wedding album, his graduation book, etc.) The bench is on it's second to the lid stack.  UGH.  I need to get them in some kind of order and albums.

Re: A Situation:
Add me to the group of pile people!  I do have my pages organized into piles for specific things.  I have vacation albums...dog albums...then I have the kids separated into piles and finally, I have sort of a misc. pile that will go together in a semi-chrono fashion.  I don't usually put my pages in albums until I am ready to organize and complete the album.

Re: A Situation:
I don't really do chronological albums, but I used to do one for my Grandson, 3, then 4, then 5, then there was another & I got behind, busy, retirement, moving!!! So now I am working on 3 grandkids, Not in order!! I keep my own albums up pretty well and have several started with certain time frames and categories, that get filled as pages are done. But Now , I keep all of my Monthly challenge LO's in a pile until the end of the month, and then file accordingly OR put them in a box until I take them to Texas and put them in kids albums!! They love them and have always loved going back & looking at them!
Most of my pages are for my DD's Christmas gift Calendars and my grandkids albums, so I don't have tons of piles to deal with, so far!

Re: A Situation:
Same here, I have vacation albums, high school albums, etc. I let the pile get about an inch high and then I sort them into albums. For vacation albums, I try to put the same thing across from itself, so I used that to think about whether I want to do a 1 or 2 pager to keep the album in order flowing right. I tend to scrap things like high school in order because there aren't that many things like there were with babies. Sometimes I feel like scrapping but have no inspiration, those are the days I sort the pages into albums.
