Thank you everyone who participated in the March Washi Challenge. It was so fun to see everyone get their Washi out, myself included. I've used more Washi this past month then I have all year. I also could hear the excitement in bringing back this challenge. Let's see what I can do in the coming months. Here Ye Here Ye - your rolls of Washi are calling you (and some of you I know you have more than a roll or 1,000)
Some of you expressed interest in me bringing back the Washi Challenge, so here I am. I was looking in my notebook and found a note saying that I started the Washi Challenge back in April of 2014 and went through 2016. WOW!!! I can't believe all this time has gone by. Washi has changed so much over the years, and yes I've probably bought every change in Washi made so far. I used to put Washi on almost all my pages, however lately I too have neglected my Washi, and it's time to change that. I used to think that my page wasn't finished until I put at least 1 piece of Washi on it. Sometimes I'd be looking at my page and know something was missing, but I can't put my finger on it. That's when I'd reach out and grab a roll of Washi and put some on the page. Oh La La~~~ my page is now complete lol. Sometimes it only takes 1 piece of Washi strategically placed to finish off a page.
It's time - the rolls of Washi have spoken to me so I'll start things off simple. I thought I'd show you what I like to do when I have multiple photos on a page. I love to put my Washi on the seams of my photos that I put together. For example if I have 3 - 4x6 photos and I put them together to go across my page like in my example below, I'll use the thinner Washi to divide each photo. To me this makes each photo stand out.
OR
When I'm doing a double page because I can't decide which photos I don't want to scrap, I will take the second side of my double LO and use all 6 photos and then use the thinner Washi to break them up. Again to me it makes all the photos stand out.
My Challenge to you is ~~~ Get that Washi out (poor little rolls of Washi - they can't breathe).
Here's the Rules:
- Outline your photos with Washi like I did in my examples - any width is fine (you can also cut your Washi in half to make it thinner).
- Layouts Only - traditional, digital or hybrid are fine.
- You may do this challenge up to 3 times.
- I'm not a fan of combining, as I want you to use your Washi. Let's let the Washi shine!!!
