*WINNER* July 2023 Country Song Challenge
We have a winner! Congrats to 9. aheatfan (bonus)! I’ll be sending your gift card shortly!

——————————————-

Happy July Scrappy Cherries! I’ve selected “Two People Fell in Love” by Brad Paisley for this month’s song. I’ve always loved this song, it has long reminded me of my late grandparents (who happened to be Wilsons like the couple in the song) - I have wonderful memories of summer picnics at their house playing with my cousins. We sadly lost them far too soon, both in July, so this month felt fitting to honor their memory with a layout I’ve been wanting to create for a while.

The challenge is to create a layout about anything that only exists because two people fell in love. For me, it is my childhood memories with my cousins and aunts/uncles. Also, please include either the song title or ANY lyric from the song on your layout. Bonus entry if you do both like I did!

The Fine Print
1. New Layouts Only. Open to both paper & digital, single or double page layouts.
2. Limit of (3) entries per Cherry.
3. Can be combined with (1) other monthly challenge.
4. I’ll use a random number generator to select a winner for a $5 ACOT Gift Card!
5. Please link your layouts here by 11:59pm EST on July 31st.

Here’s my layout!

Aww, this is such a nice way to honor your grandparents.  So sorry you lost them both so close.  I am sure they are looking down and smiling! Great challenge, thank you!

Oh yes, we have wonderful guardian angels! They passed 5 years and a day apart, so it’s always a rough week, but we know they’re smiling! Their 20th great grandchild (sadly they did not get to meet any of them) is due later this month :)

Re: July 2023 Country Song Challenge
Photo is of me with my cousins on my mother's side. Half of us are blood related, the rest aren't. But we are still family. My Grandfather lost his first wife to cancer in '69. My Grannie divorced her first husband. They met at Church and by March 1971 they were married. My Grandfather had a 14 yr old daughter (my mother) and a 7 year old daughter (my Aunt Laura). His 2 sons (George & Michael) were already grown and out of the house (21 years old and 19 years old). My Grannie had 3 kiddos under age of 7: Suzanne age 6; Amy age 4 and Curtis was 2.

Fast forward to 1980 when I was born. The baby of the family (Katharine) was born in 1995, with 8 other grandchildren born in between that time period. Growing up, we never thought twice who was blood and who wasn't. All we knew is that we were family and we became a blended family...all because 2 people fell in love.

Here is my entry featuring photos taken in the Bahamas. I would never have done all the traveling I do if I had never met my adventurous husband!

This is a family photo from my grandparent's  70th anniversary.

I used the title and lyrics (I changed the names and details to fit the occasion..  I hope that counts for the challenge!)

Re: July 2023 Country Song Challenge
Great challenge!!  I was excited because I realized right away that it would be the perfect choice for this photo and I am so glad that I finally found the time to do this after the grandkids left - they were here for most of the month of July!

This is from the past Father's Day - my DH and I, my DD and DS, their spouses and their kids - my dear grandkids. The first time we have all been together!
