Derek Emergency File

by GypsymonkeyAug 30, 2005
At my kids' school, during the first week when feeling out all the paperwork for the year, they ask us parents to make up a little emergency baggie in case of earthquake, etc. to have at the school.  In the back, we put the emergency contact information, a small packaged snack (the kind that won't spoil without refrideration), and a note to our child to comfort them.  This year, I made the kids Emergency Files.  I did most of the work on the computer.  For some reason, I don't fuction all that well at 2 a.m., and didn't trust to do it all hands on.I don't know all of the products I used.  The template for the folder was downloaded from online.  I do know that I used Bazzill cardstock on the inside pages and Basic Grey monogram letter.  I made sure to use a lower case "d" on the front of Derek's folder because all of his friends have nicknamed him "Little D," due to him being at least a foot shorter than them!  LOLJournaling reads:  Derek,  Hi, sweetie!  Right now things may seem scary.  Try to be brave and know that your friends are feeling the same as you.  As you look through this special file folder made specially for you, remember that daddy, Emily, and I are all thinking of you.  We'll all be back together soon.  You have a little snack here.  You might be hungry, but try to make it last as long as you can.  Know that we all love you!  Love,  (and then had dh, Emily, and I hand sign it).Thank you for looking!

That's really cool that the school thinks of this. I love how you developed it. What a great way to know that mama is right there with them.
