SEW - Super Star Challenge #3
by GypsymonkeyJan 16, 2005
Product used:Bottle Caps by Design OriginalsRed Letter Stickers by Design OriginalsMetal Charms by The Card ConnectionCranberry Weathered Paper by Deja ViewsEyelets by DoodlebugVellum for journalingThe frame that surrounds the sewing cabinet is from a swap I was in.Journaling reads:Grandma's Sewing MachineWay into the early hours fo the morning, my grandma Elsie would sit on her three legged wooden chair and sew clothes for me.The Singer sewing machine that sits in the cabinet is from the 1960s. One of those machines that had no plastic parts on it, only metal. At one time, some one had offered her $200.00 for this old machine, but she wouldn't sell it for anything. It's the cabinet that the sewing machine sits in that has a very special place in my heart. The cabinet was made in 1904. When I was a little girl, I would play forever in teh cabinet. I would open up those four small wooden doors and climb into the cabinet, my own special place. In 2002, the sewing machine and its cabinet came to me. Grandma was moving and didn't have room to take it with her. She knew how much it meant to me even though I can't sew. Grandma is now 90 years old. She's getting on in years, but still has her wits about her. I know that she may not live many more years, but I will always have the sewing machine and it's cabinet!
