Posted by megamay It's a new year! I just can't believe that it's time for 2012! Here are the challenges for January so you can start the new year off with a scrapbooking bang! Remember: - only one LO per challenge will enter you into the points drawing - LOs cannot be entered into more than one challenge category - *please* only enter LOs that meet the specific challenge instructions Ad Inspiration Challenge by MamaK321 (Kristianne)
All About Me Challenge by milmomma (Brittney)
January is the month to review how things have gone over the past year. It is the month to set new goals and start a new year off with a fresh begining. But before I can look ahead I like to look back and see what I need to change. I have made a template for all the digital girls, and the paper girls, feel free to use it as a sketch or you can make/use your own! Share with us how your year looks. Card Challenge by FairyMouseMom (Egle) (paper, digital, or hybrid challenge) Since we are ringing in a new year of new resolutions, new hopes, new dreams.....you must include the word "NEW" on your card cover!
Color Challenge by Art_Teacher (Laura) (paper, digital, or hybrid challenge)
January makes me think of ice and snow (even though we don't have any yet this year), and when I think of winter weather, I think of gorgeous blues and purples. Your challenge this month is to use blue and purple together in a winter layout (it doesn't have to have snow in it, though!). You may use other accent colors but 75% of your layout must be blues and purples. Countdown Challenge by sarahwhithers (Jennifer) (paper, digital, or hybrid challenge)
For this challenge you will create a layout using a countdown method of items. I will list five different kinds of things (eg. elements, papers, photos) for you to use in your layout. Every month there will be five new items for you to use. And for this month, I want you to scrap about something cold! It can be the weather, a fav frosty treat or even your fav cold vampire. haha! Anything cold, scrap it! Digi Do-Able by Smiley-Scrap8 (Ronny) (digital challenge) Get the digital template free in the digi shoppe! Find the digi doable templates HERE.
The template: Guest Creative Team Challenge by Scrapy1967 (Janet) (paper, digital or hybrid challenge)
My challenge is a heritage challenge. Scrap those old photos and I want to see some distressing. Manufacturer Challenge by 4peasinourpod (Pam) (paper challenge)
Movie Buff Challenge by Mommybruno (Cassandra) (paper, digital, or hybrid challenge)
January Movie Buff Challenge: For this challenge we'll be drawing our inspiration from a movie. I will supply you with the movie and a pic of the movie poster. The rest is up to you. And there is lots of inspiration available - from the poster, the title, the soundtrack, the theme of the movie, the actors, movie quotes, you name it! Just be sure to note in your description what it was that inspired your layout.
Music Challenge by Mommybruno (Cassandra) (paper, digital, or hybrid challenge) January Music Inspiration Challenge: This month we're getting our inspiration from Elvis Presley. You can be inspired by a song, an album cover, a movie...anything Elvis. If you scraplift a poster or album cover, please include it in the gallery. For my LO, I was inspired by the song title Stuck On You and by the album cover for the Blue Hawaii soundtrack. So get those blue suede shoes on and see how The King inspires your scrapping this month!
One Word Challenge by Jenn Kellams (Jennifer K.) (paper, digital, or hybrid challenge)
Photography Challenge by nun69 (Angie)
Pinterest Inspiration Challenge - By SarahA (Sarah) (paper, digital, or hybrid challenge)
Use this pin of mittens from the Sundance catalog to inspire your layout. Do you like the colors? Have some photos of your family all bundled up for winter? Does this remind you of your favorite sweater? Show us how these cute mittens inspires your next layout! Scraplift the GCT Challenge - By Carrie123 (Carrie) (paper, digital, or hybrid challenge) Choose a layout from the Guest Creative Team member's gallery and scraplift it. Here is her gallery: http://www.acherryontop.com/gallery_show/,37393308,cid,,, Below is the page I chose and my example lift.

Trends and Techniques Challenge by Megamay (Meg) (paper, digital, or hybrid challenge) This month I challenge you to try a clean and simple layout. This style of scrapbooking isn't new, but seems to be coming back into style now that the vintage trend has waned a little. Clean and simple doesn't have to be boring, it can include layers and embellishments. It doesn't have to have tiny pictures. It just has to be, well, clean. Whitespace is usually a component of clean and simple pages although, I don't think it's necessarily required. Of course, remember that whitespace doesn't have to be white. In my example, the whitespace is blue with words on it. So start the new year off with a fresh, clean (and simple) page!
