Karyn_Sue's Old Glory Challenge UPDATED WITH WINNER
SO SORRY!!! I had the winner picked yesterday, but then after posting the winner for the "Happy Holidays" challenge, I got distracted with the 25-item challenge and forgot to post this one!

WOW! We had 38 entries and I was so impressed with all the ways you came up with to do red, white and blue OR stars and stripes! Who ever thought of R/W/B for Christmas??? I'm glad you all were able to get so much inspiration from our Grand Old Flag!!!

We have a winner, as chossen by pickerwheel, #33 Suegmomof3! I'll be sending your name to Jessica so please verify that your address is correct in your profile.

Here's my FIRST challenge.

With spring and summer come some patriotic holidays which got me thinking about our Grand old flag. So I decided to use the flag for inspiration.

For this challenge, you will have 2 choices. you may only choose one - but see bonus option below!

The first option is to be inspired by the COLORS of the flag. Aside from your photo, you layout must be Red, White and Blue. But it doesn't have to be patriotic at all - as long as it follows the color scheme. BUT! if you choose this theme you may NOT use stars or stripes!

Here's mine:

The second option is to be inspired by the stripes and stars., Again, it doesn't need to be patriotic as long as it includes stripes and stars. BUT! If you choose this theme you may NOT use Red white and blue

Image

AND for a bonus entry you can do them BOTH! Note - not combined!!!! Two separate layouts! LOL

One lucky winner will receive this Catherine Pooler "Howdy Partner" package!Image

And, as always, the boring stuff:

1. All layouts must be submitted by Sunday, 5/18 at 11:59pm EDT.
2. You may only choose ONE of the options listed above!
3. If you have any questions, please pm me.
4. This challenge can only be combined with 25 item challenge and May team challenge.
5. Most importantly - have fun & good luck!!!

Quick question: for the second option, I assume from your example that we can incorporate red or white or blue into our layout as long as that is not our primary/only color scheme. So I could use those colors on my layout as long as I use other colors as well. Can you confirm?

correct - it cannot be overwhelmingly red/white/blue. If those colors are smaller parts in a pattern, that's fine. But it can't scream RWB.

Thanks for your question

I picked to use the stars and stripes. But in green. And I matted in purple, because it is the absence of green LOL.

I used option 2 to scrap about my bunnies. The stars are on the black patterned paper and the stripes are on the washi below the journaling. Thanks for the inspiration!
